Owner
Hiya! I'm Kimberly, the face behind Fictional Wanderlust.I'm a Taurus living in Fort Worth, Texas, with my amazing husband—my high school sweetheart—and our two cats and two dogs. I'm a Dr. Pepper and coffee addict, a fantasy romance reader, and a proud Disney adult. By day, I'm the owner of this little shop, and by night, I'm a homebody who loves eating copious amounts of chips & queso, wandering every aisle of Target, and camping out for video game sessions with my husband. I’m also a former vet tech, and if you ever need a good recommendation for a book or a cozy hangout spot, I'm your gal! Thank you for being part of this journey with me

Meet Bullseye and Jessie—our lovable meownagers and the real MVPs behind the scenes. These two are experts in cuddling, food (especially treats), and being mom's best friends. When they’re not keeping things running smoothly (**chaotic**) around here, they’re adding extra doses of cuteness to the office and making sure our team’s spirits stay high. It’s safe to say, they’re always the heart of the operation!
My Story
From Burnout to Fictional Wanderlust
In 2021, I found myself at a crossroads—feeling burnt out and lost. That’s when I stumbled upon BookTok and discovered A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas, which ignited my love for reading and changed my life. I would be lying if I said I haven’t let that series become my entire personality (and I’m proud of it!). From there, I dived headfirst into more series, falling in love with countless fictional worlds where I found peace and escape.
As I explored these captivating stories, I realized I wasn’t happy with where I was in life—my career, relationships, or with myself. With the support of my amazing husband, I made the bold decision to quit my full-time job and focus on my mental and physical well-being while figuring out what I truly wanted to do. The strong, unapologetic female characters I read about inspired me to come out of my shell and embrace who I really am, without fear of judgment. With the encouragement of my friends and family, I began sharing my “nerdy” side by creating a bookstagram and BookTok account (@kimberly.is.reading), and they’ve been nothing short of supportive.
Wanting to take the strong characters and worlds I love everywhere I go, I dreamed of creating apparel that would remind me to be confident and proud of who I am. I enjoyed supporting other bookish businesses but couldn’t find designs that reflected my ideas, so I decided to make them myself. Two years after I discovered reading, designed my first pieces, and reached out to Sarah J. Maas’s team to get licensed, Fictional Wanderlust LLC was born.
